My First Cow Experience!!!

Hey guys!!! :D I am now the proud owner of my very own Jersey Bull calf! :D Yay!!! ;P Now, stories. *evil laugh* Sooo.... I did a work trade with Heart 2 Heart farms in Sherwood Oregon. After working for a certain amount of time yesterday, my dad and I drove out to a dairy to pick up our three calves instead of getting paid with money. (That's a trade I'm okay with) ;P We picked up the three, but because we didn't want to start with three, we gave one to some friends of ours who do cows alot, and we kept two. One went to my mom, and I kept the other one. I picked the smaller one, and named him O. Now, 'why the strange name?' you might ask. Have you ever heard of the movie called Home? Well, I've only seen a preview of it, and I didn't even watch the whole thing, but I did see enough to know what the main alien character was like. He was the accidentally, awkward klutz, and that's what my little guy is like, so, I named him O. XD Anyways. We got the two home and allowed them to settle in their large stall. About two hours after they had been home, little O was starting to worry me. he was breathing much faster than his buddy, Sampson, and was huffing alot like he was struggling to breathe. I called my older sister for advice. (She's the Gandolf to my 'sam has no idea what he's doing on this adventure, but he knows what his goal is so he goes along anyways'.) ;D She said to turn all the lights off and allow no one into the barn for two hours so that they would have time to settle. We did that, then checked on them after two hours. They were doing better, but O's breathing still seemed a little stressed. We made up an elecrolyte mixture and fed him that, but was only able to get hald the bottle down, it was better than nothing though. After leaving them to rest once again, I went out after dinner and sat in the stall, just so that they could get used to me. They were doing much better, wandering around, getting curious about things and started to make noises, when at first they were quiet and didn't want to move around much. Mom and I gave them their dinner after a little while. It was difficult getting O to allow the nipple to go into his mouth, but when we got it in, he sucked his milk down and is quit happy and full now. :) I'm about to head out and check on them before bed, so I shall bid you goodnight, and I will keep you all updated. :)
