The OCW Conference

I've learned so much this last weekend! I had the privilege to be able to go to the Oregon Christian Writers conference this last Saturday, and I have never been so encouraged in my writing! I would get these shocked realizations over and over again, that every person sitting in front of me in that large auditorium, was a writer. I had found my family and my happy place. :D

The main speaker was Carrie Stuart Parks. I had never heard of her until I had learned about the conference, and I'm hoping that I can check out some of her books. But, I absolutely LOVED listening to her speak. There's so much that I learned, and I made so many scribbles in my notebook, and I typed lot's on my computer. I met new people also. It was an incredible experience an environment. I'm really hoping I can go to the next one.

I was able to go with a friend of mine, and another friend's mom, who drove us, so we were able to talk about what we had learned during the lunch break, and the car ride back.

It was encouraging also, to know that I'm not alone in the crazy world of writing. I've never seen so many writers gathered in one place, and it made my heart swell when I saw all the people. :)

So, would I recommend OCW? Yes. I absolutely would.

I guess my point of this blog post is that, if you're a writer, one: this is a great place to go to, and two: you aren't alone in the world. There are many more writers out there how will support you, you just have to take the step to meet them, and join the community. :)

Check out OCW! They're really cool! ;D
